1.Introduction #

Purpose of this Manual

This manual is a reference guide for the myPANEL device. It will:

  • Explain how to log in to myPANEL.
  • Getting familiar with myPANEL device.
  • Give you an overview of the device system.
  • Explain how to set up all necessary settings.

 

Who Should Use This Manual

Use this manual if you are responsible for designing, installing, programming or troubleshooting control systems using  panel device. You should have a basic understanding of electrical circuitry and a familiarity with relay logic.

ImportantIf you do not have this necessary knowledge, please obtain an appropriate training before using the product!

3.First startup and setup wizard #

3.1.Package content #

  • 1x myPANEL,
  • 1x Package with necessary accessories for installation,
  • 1x Quick guide.

3.2.First boot #

First plug ethernet cable inside myPANEL, this step is really necessary, since once myPANEL is plugged into electricity site it will boot up and myPANEL needs to download updates from remote server.

After plugging in ethernet cable into LAN you can also plug electricity cable into myPANEL, which must be in the range 9~36 V DC.

After launching the panel, the window with countdown appears. If you click the settings button during the countdown, you get into the panel settings.

 

3.2.1

 

At first, change the user password. The default password is set to 1234. You log in using “LOGIN” button. Then you fill the password (1234).

When you click on the “SYSTEM” button, you are able to change the default password. If you do not change the password, everyone can change the setting of myPANEL!

4.GUI – Graphical User Interface #

4.1.HMI #

Provides you possibility to view HMI views and gather data (Data protocols and alarms). So, HMI is place, where you project can be viewed. After first boot you can find inside myPANEL default project.

4.2.Virtual Keyboard #

For typing text, you need to connect either external keyboard or allow virtual keyboard, which we can see on the picture bellow. For allowing these settings you need to allow this in myDESIGNER, this will allow virtual keyboard to appear once you will need to type into fields.

In next picture we can see, where exactly in myDESIGNER we need to mark virtual keyboard as wanted. After ticking virtual keyboard as wanted will be virtual keyboard activated, after re-downloading project into device. For allowing this option you need to click once at project tab (Project needs to be selected) as you can see on the picture bellow.

4.3.Language #

As mentioned before, myPANEL comes with pre-selected English language from factory, but myPANEL can be either set to Czech, or German languages. To get into these settings you need to click on language tab.

4.4.System #

System is tab inside settings menu, which allows you to get overview of CPU usage, usage of RAM memory (Inside this section we can see actual available, used and free memory) And about free space at myPANEL.

We can also see there processes (At right side). If any of these processes is red, please wait a bit, if process won’t refresh, please restart myPANEL device by using RST button on side of myPANEL.

Inside SYSTEM tab we can also see connection to local network and either connection to myCLOUD service. Green color indicates that everything is correct, or that the device is connected successfully, but the red color indicates that something is wrong, or either that device is not connected.

4.5.License #

Inside license tab is actual version of SW displayed, which is installed inside myPANEL, next we can find there HW-ID which is identification number for myPANEL.

Under HW-ID we can see version of our license, which indicates how much tags you can use in your project.

4.6.Project #

Project tab allows you to lock project, next we can set up password there, to prevent random project download inside panel, which could lead to loss data from project.

We can change password by clicking on “Upload Password”. Same is for changing HTTP and HTTPS port, for change click to grey window, change port, and then click on button “change” to confirm your settings.

4.7.History #

Inside history tab we can allow Data-Logs, CAS Alarms and user actions to be stored inside myPANEL memory internal memory.

To apply changes, you just need to click on button “change” and changes will be applied.

4.8.myCLOUD #

myCLOUD tab needs to be used in case that you would need to connect your Panel to myCLOUD service.

For setting up myCLOUD, we need to upload file which was generated before by myCLOUD service. We will click to “Choose File” and download file into myPANEL.

Then after turning on myCLOUD service, will myCLOUD inside system setting indicator turn green from red, which will indicate successful connection to myCLOUD service.

4.9.SMTP #

SMTP have tab have its purpose if you are looking for sending emails using CAS alarms or any other mail sending service in myDESIGNER.

From this smtp server will be mails sent. In next fields are more detailed information about ports, senders of the emails, selection from verification or access data.

We can also select which variant of security is server using if TLS/SSL or STARTTLS. Then we can try, if everything is set correctly using button “Test” where we will fill email of receiver of testing email.

4.10.Serial #

Serial tab will be used in case, that we would need to connect device with serial port connection.

4.11.Network #

Panel have two types of connection into your network. First of them is DHCP type, which means that panel will take up automatically acquired IP address from router. Second variant is static which will let us put there IP address and other details manually.

Panel also offers remote server, if this function will be set, Panel will be accessed remotely, if the connection will be interrupted Panel will turn him automatically into local set-up. So, the user won’t lose any data.

Panel from factory is set to acquire IP address from DHCP.

4.12.Time #

In time tab we can set up actual or needed time of myPANEL.

We have there NTP-Network Time Protocol, which will be used for synchronization internal clock, using this we can synchronize actual time. Time can be set manually, clicking on each grey field and then confirming setting by clicking on “change”.

4.13.Display #

Inside display tab, we can set screen saver, which will turn off myPANEL display when it’s not used, which will help us to save electrical energy.

Next variant is setting up display orientation, it can be either displayed as landscape or as a portrait.

After choosing one of these variants you need to reboot myPANEL.

4.14.Upgrade #

Inside upgrade tab we can upgrade myPANEL with newest software version, which we can download at mySCADA webpage here. Really important is to mention that myPANEL 5” and 7” have different upgrade file than myPANEL 10” and 15”. Please check before upgrade which file is being downloaded to myPANEL.

Panels 5” and 7” Are upgraded using file myPanel7.sh or myPanel8.sh. Panels 10” and 15” Are upgraded using file myPanel7_x64.sh or myPanel8_x64.sh

 

14.4.1

 

For upgrading myPANEL is best option to choose variant of upgrading myPANEL using PC, which is connected to same network, first we need to download necessary files to upgrade (Which can be downloaded on myscada.org at downloads section – myPANEL).

Now is needed to put IP address of you myPANEL into computer browser, you will go into settings by clicking on toothed wheel, you will get into settings menu, where we need to log-in and go into upgrade section. We click in “Choose File” and select file which was mentioned before.

After selecting file, we will see “Upgrade” button, we will click on this button and file will start to download to device.

After that we will see progress bar of downloading file into myPANEL.

After successful upgrade download to device we will see that upgrade is in progress.

After that myPANEL will reboot himself automatically and will boot up back again. Please, do not interrupt upgrade by plugging off power source or restarting myPANEL, it could lock up device, or make device itself to be no longer usable.

Upgrade can take up some time, so please be patient.
