2.Operational Conditions #

For reliable 24/7 operation, you should make sure the following requirements are met. Not meeting any or multiple requirements can result in lower performance, shorten equipment life, and unpredictable failures.

Requirement Explanation Resolution
Average CPU load below 70%

If you constantly overload the myBOX equipment, you can shorten its life. The device will produce excessive heat resulting in overall lower performance.

Keeping the CPU load over 70% will result in myACCESS periodic disconnects due to a system cooling.

  • Try to limit the number of alarms, data logs, and views in your project.
  • Prolong the time read intervals.
  • In PLC, sort tags in continuous arrays for optimal readout. This can significantly improve performance!
  • Check your server-side scripts.
  • Replace myBOX with the server with myPRO installed.
Overall consumed memory below 80% If you consume all system memory, myBOX will limit the running processes. This can result in service interruption and errors.
  • Try to limit the number of alarms, data logs, and views in your project.

Ethernet interfaces – network delay below 10ms

Reliable network communication is crucial for the trouble-free operation of the device.

  • Long latency on the network interface can result in read and write PLC errors.
  • Can result in problems connecting and keeping a connection to myACCESS.
  • Test using the Ping command.
  • Check the cabling and switch.
Ethernet interfaces – lost packets below 0.5%

Reliable network communication is crucial for the trouble-free operation of the device.

  • Lost packets on the network interface will result in read and write PLC errors.
  • Can result in problems connecting and keeping a connection to myACCESS.
  • Test using the Ping command.
  • Check the cabling and switch.

LTE interface – network delay below 500ms

Reliable network communication is crucial for the trouble-free operation of the device.

  • Lost packets on the LTE interface will result in read and write errors.
  • Can result in problems connecting and keeping a connection to myACCESS.
  • Test using the Ping command.
  • Check the signal strength.
  • Check the LTE Antena.
  • Replace antenna for higher gain version.
  • Do NOT keep the antenna inside a steel cabinet.
  • Try to change the operator.
  • Try to switch from LTE to 3G.
LTE interface – lost packets below 1% Reliable network communication is crucial for the trouble-free operation of the device.

Operate in a non-condensing environment The condensing environment will cause permanent damage to your device. Water moisture will corrode the PCB board resulting in HW mulfunction.
  • Operate in a dry environment only.
Operate in temperatures below 35 degrees Operating in temperatures above 35 degrees will result in the limited performance of the device and shorten life. Especially RTC battery will suffer.
  • Provide cabinet ventilation.
  • Keep space around the device.
Use the stable power supply myBOX is designed to operate over a stable power supply. If used in the machinery which is regularly switched off, we strongly recommend using the UPS to keep the myBOX running. Extended power cycling will shorten the RTC battery life and can result in unexpected data logging errors.
  • If the equipment is to be shut down regularly use the UPC system.
  • Provide stable power supply with rated Volts and Amps.
  • Do not keep the myBOX without power for extended time periods otherwise, the RTC battery will deplete.
